Rhode Island Senate President Dominick Ruggerio has thrown his support behind a bill to double gambling-on-credit limits at two Bally\u2019s casinos. According to The Providence Journal, this bill, if passed, will raise the credit limit to $100,000. A spokesperson for Ruggerio explained, \u201cThe bill was introduced at the request of Bally\u2019s, to keep them on par with competition from casinos in Massachusetts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Rationale Behind the Proposal<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Some skeptics question the necessity of this move and whether Bally\u2019s can effectively monitor the gambling habits of online players or patrons of Tribal casinos across state lines. Elizabeth Suever, a representative for Bally\u2019s, addressed these concerns during a recent Senate Committee on Special Legislation meeting. She clarified, \u201cObviously we\u2019re not interested in extending lines of credit to those individuals who would not be able to pay it back.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A meeting later this week will review the House\u2019s version of the bill, further determining its fate.<\/p>\n

In other developments, Bally\u2019s recently launched its Bally Be<\/a>t mobile sportsbook in Indiana. Alongside the online platform, a retail sportsbook has opened at Bally\u2019s Evansville casino. Company President George Papanier expressed pride in these advancements. He stated, \u201cWe are very proud to introduce our Bally Bet mobile sportsbook in Indiana, a state with a coveted sports history and a legion of loyal fans. We are also excited to open the Bally Bet Sportsbook at Bally\u2019s Evansville.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
