Century\u2019s revenue increased significantly in 2023 across all categories, mostly as a result of its US operations. Throughout the year, the company made strategic acquisitions to broaden its line of business.<\/p>\n

The $100.0 million acquisition by Century in April 2023 of Marnell Gaming\u2019s remaining 50% stake in Nevada\u2019s Nugget Casino Resort was one of the significant deals. Additionally, the company paid $56.1 million in July to acquire Rocky Gap Casino in Maryland; talks to buy the facility had started in July 2022.<\/p>\n

Continued Expansion and Development<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Aside from purchases, Century continued to be dedicated to its growth initiatives, especially in Missouri, where it pursued many large-scale building projects. The company\u2019s commitment to expansion is demonstrated by the impending opening of the Cape Girardeau hotel and the soon-to-be-completed casino and hotel project in Caruthersville.<\/p>\n

Co-CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger expressed confidence about Century\u2019s destiny as they looked back on the accomplishments of 2023. They described the year as \u201ctransitional,\u201d laying the groundwork for significant expansion in 2024 and beyond, especially with the addition of recently purchased properties.<\/p>\n

In terms of geographical performance, the US emerged as Century\u2019s primary revenue contributor, registering a remarkable 41.7% increase to $380.6 million. In Canada, the company reported a 5.3% revenue growth to $75.4 million, while revenue from operations in Poland saw a modest uptick of 4.3% to $94.1 million, despite licensing delays.<\/p>\n
