The goal of Senate Bill 1046, which is being led by State Senator John Martin, is to severely restrict the use of unauthorized slot machines throughout the state. A $5,000 fine and up to five years in jail are the potential consequences of the law,<\/a> which would raise the seriousness of illicit gambling operations from a second-degree misdemeanor to a third-degree felony.<\/p>\n
