Federal investigators are looking into the unsettling case of George Janssen, a poker player from Michigan and four-time World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Ring winner. According to shocking developments, Janssen was abducted and held captive for more than a month as part of a complex two-year extortion scheme.<\/p>\n

According to local sources, Janssen, who was from Bad Axe, Michigan, was discovered with his wrists bound with zip ties and blood all over his body on a desolate Meade Township road. The startling revelation came when Janssen signaled for assistance from a passing car. Guy claimed to have been held hostage for a month and that his wrists were zip-tied, according to a dispatcher who described the events.<\/p>\n

Investigators suspect Janssen, a well-known poker player with a distinguished career and a previous owner of a car dealership, became involved in a two-year extortion scheme. According to people familiar with the case, he was taken hostage by two or three people and imprisoned in a Toledo home for a torturous thirty-five days. On December 16, he was then brought back to Hurron County.<\/p>\n

On November 13, Janssen\u2019s family first reported him missing. His automobile was found by a family acquaintance, scattered over the floor with many $50 notes, offering a startling window into the terrifying experience.<\/p>\n

With four WSOP Circuit Rings to his name, Janssen is well-known for his mastery at the tables.
