The license was granted to Allwyn by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino-news\/ukgc-outlines-schedule-for-gambling-act-review-consultations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK Gambling Commission<\/a><\/strong> (UKGC) in 2021, however the decision was met with lawsuits from International Game Technology (IGT). After a protracted legal battle, the High Court finally found in favor of the UKGC, effectively ending IGT\u2019s claim for damages.<\/p>\n<p>Allwyn obtained the coveted license to operate the UK National Lottery in 2021, marking a significant milestone for the operator. However, the ruling was challenged in court by IGT, a multinational gambling solutions supplier. The court backed with the UKGC\u2019s decision, putting an end to IGT\u2019s litigation for the fourth National Lottery license. Should IGT chose to contest the verdict further, the potential of an appeal remains available.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, IGT has been busy with other projects in the midst of the legal battle. Totalizator Sportowy, the organiser of the Polish national lottery, has announced a cooperation with the company.
