The Gambling Commission found that condition unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The operator also asked some customers for additional information during routine withdrawal reviews. Commission rules prohibit making withdrawals conditional on information that operators could reasonably have collected earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Sue Young, Executive Director of operations at the Commission, said operators must allow prompt withdrawals without unfair restrictions or avoidable delays.<\/p>\n<p>She said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat is essential to consumer trust.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThere may be occasions where a gambling business can ask consumers for information at withdrawal to fulfil legal obligations, but this was not the case here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, investigators found that money laundering and terrorist financing checks relied largely on financial thresholds and sampling rather than individual customer risks.<\/p>\n<p>L &amp; L Europe also failed to follow its own due diligence procedures for newly opened bank accounts and verifying income sources.
