The deal also settles potential claims over past patent use.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong><em>Good to Know<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Ainsworth will pay AUD8.5 million over three and a half years.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>The licence covers Aristocrat Hold &#038; Spin patents for Ainsworth products in Australia.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Ainsworth also receives royalty free access to several Aristocrat responsible gaming patents.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong>Ainsworth Secures Hold and Spin Patent Access<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The agreement gives Ainsworth non-exclusive access to Aristocrat Australian gameplay patents, including the Hold &#038; Spin patent family. Ainsworth can use the covered features across branded electronic gaming machines plus online and mobile games sold in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Customers, distributors and gaming venues also receive pass through rights. As a result, they can operate, service and resell qualifying Ainsworth products supplied during the agreement term.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Ryan Comstock said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Agreement we have entered into with Aristocrat (which is effective immediately) provides us with the certainty required to confidently implement our strategic growth initiatives in the Australian market.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The arrangement goes beyond game mechanics. Aristocrat granted Ainsworth royalty free access to Australian responsible gaming patents covering digital wallets, account based play, player limits, self exclusion, player messaging and AI based risk detection. Those licences remain valid until each relevant patent expires, including beyond the main three and a half year agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Ainsworth, meanwhile, granted Aristocrat a non-exclusive and non-transferable licence covering all Ainsworth patents used in Aristocrat branded products in Australia. Both suppliers also released claims tied to earlier use of the licensed patents and agreed not to challenge the patents covered by the arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>The AUD8.5 million payment will arrive through instalments during the agreement term. Ainsworth and Aristocrat will keep the remaining commercial terms confidential.<\/p>\n<p>The deal follows a key Australian patent ruling from 2025.
