Its responsibilities include licensing, supervision and support for stronger gambling tax collection.<\/p>\n<p>Local outlet The Morning reported that officials had aimed to complete the operational framework in June 2026. Work continues on the authority structure and detailed regulatory rules.<\/p>\n<p>Government officials reportedly consider the delay necessary as Sri Lanka prepares for further gaming sector growth.
