Approved operators can now offer stakes above the standard \u20ac1 ($1.15) limit.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to Know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Players aged 21 or older may qualify for \u20ac3 stakes.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>A \u20ac5 limit requires no harmful gambling indicators during the prior 90 days.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Operators must monitor players before and after any increase.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong>Higher Stakes Come With Player Checks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Joint Gambling Authority of the Federal States can approve limits of \u20ac3 or \u20ac5 per spin from July. The \u20ac1 cap remains the default under the State Treaty on Gambling.<\/p>\n<p>Operators must review player activity before granting higher stakes. Continued monitoring is also required after approval. Warning signs can lead to direct contact, lower limits or account suspension.<\/p>\n<p>The GGL said the amendment reflects market conditions while maintaining player protection and addiction prevention standards. Representatives from all 16 federal states approved the change.<\/p>\n<p>Industry groups view the decision as an admission that strict product limits have driven players toward unlicensed online casinos.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s clear that the states wouldn\u2019t have made this change if they hadn\u2019t seen the issue with channelisation and with the limited products we have been offering,\u201d<\/em> Simon Priglinger-Simader of Entain Group and the German Online Casino Association told us.<\/p>\n<p>He added: <em>\u201cThe federal states are demonstrating their willingness to regularly review the practical impact of existing regulations and to make adjustments where necessary to achieve the objectives of the Interstate Treaty on Gambling. We hope that this decision will encourage more players to return to the regulated market.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Germany will complete its first review of the 2021 Interstate Treaty by year-end.
