However, rising regulated market costs and lower B2B activity cut earnings.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good to Know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Q2 revenue increased 2.1% to \u20ac310.2 million ($361.9 million).<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Operating income fell 38.9% to \u20ac42.2 million.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Latin America became the largest Betsson region with \u20ac112.1 million in revenue.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong>Latin America Overtakes CEECA<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Revenue from Latin America climbed 32.3% and represented 36% of the Betsson group total. Argentina, Peru and Colombia each delivered record quarters, supported by World Cup marketing and higher customer activity.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAs in previous quarters, the strongest growth came from Latin America, which grew by 32% to new record levels and is now our largest region,\u201d<\/em> CEO Pontus Lindwall said. <em>\u201cThe increase was broad-based and received an additional boost from the FIFA World Cup, which contributed to high activity among both new and existing customers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Betsson also gained a sportsbook licence in Santa Fe, Argentina. A launch is planned for the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Western Europe revenue reached a record \u20ac64.2 million, led by Italy. Nordic revenue fell 17.1% after lower marketing spending in Sweden and Denmark.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Taxes and B2B Decline Cut Profit<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Regulated markets generated 75.5% of group revenue, compared with 65.7% one year earlier. Greater exposure brought higher gaming taxes and payment fees.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe higher share of locally regulated revenue, and the higher gaming taxes that follow, is once again a key explanation for the lower profitability compared with the same period last year,\u201d<\/em> Lindwall said.<\/p>\n<p>B2B licence revenue dropped from \u20ac75.6 million to \u20ac49.1 million, mainly because of reduced activity from one major customer.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, EBITDA fell 30.5% to \u20ac58.5 million. Net income declined 38.2% to \u20ac30.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>Casino remained the main product with \u20ac217.6 million in revenue, equal to 70% of the group total. Sportsbook revenue stayed broadly flat at \u20ac91.3 million.<\/p>\n<p>Before the World Cup, Betsson increased sportsbook capacity to five times normal traffic.
