The 87.6% share shows that public finances remain closely tied to casino performance, despite efforts to build tourism and non-gaming industries. Macau has historically depended on gaming for most fiscal income.<\/p>\n<p>Macau applies an effective 40% tax rate to casino gross gaming revenue under the 10-year concession system introduced on January 1, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>However, monthly casino GGR and tax receipts do not match directly.
