The $5.1 billion UAE resort, backed by Wynn Resorts, is being built as the first integrated gaming resort in the MENA region.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><em><strong>Good To Know<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>Punchdrunk will create its first MENA production for Wynn Al Marjan Island.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Guests can choose a seated show or a roaming backstage format.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Wynn Resorts owns a 40% equity stake in the Ras Al Khaimah project.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong>Wynn Adds Theatre To Its UAE Casino Plan<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The casino floor will not carry the full entertainment pitch at Wynn Al Marjan Island. Wynn Resorts has picked British theatre company Punchdrunk to build a new production around a traditional Las Vegas revue style show, with song, dance and immersive theatre mixed into one venue.<\/p>\n<p>The format gives guests two ways in. They can watch from a traditional seat or enter a roaming version set<em> \u201cdownstairs and backstage,\u201d<\/em> according to Wynn. The resort theatre will also use Art Deco design elements, giving the production a more classic Las Vegas link without copying a Strip show.<\/p>\n<p>Punchdrunk brings a clear theatre name to the project. The company is best known for \u2018Sleep No More\u2019, which ran for 14 years in New York and passed 5,000 performances. The show still runs in Seoul, will finish a decade-long Shanghai run in August, and will launch in Shenzhen next year.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Barrett, artistic director and founder of Punchdrunk, said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe hope the production will deliver a spectacular theatrical experience, both for audiences seeking world-class entertainment and for those in search of something truly unexpected.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ras Al Khaimah Builds Beyond Gaming<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Wynn Al Marjan Island has become the main casino and integrated resort test case for the UAE. The project sits on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah and carries a $5.1 billion budget. Wynn Resorts is developing it with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding.<\/p>\n<p>Craig Billings, chief executive officer of Wynn Resorts, said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAmong the dozens of unique and transportive guest experiences we offer in our resorts, entertainment has always been an essential element. With Punchdrunk, we are creating something entirely original for Wynn Al Marjan Island.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Punchdrunk deal also helps Wynn present the resort as a full hospitality and entertainment destination, not only a gaming property. That positioning matters in the UAE, where casino regulation remains new and tightly managed through the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority.<\/p>\n<p>Billings said on Wynn Resorts first quarter earnings call in May that the <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/casino-news\/wynn-al-marjan-island-tower-reaches-full-structural-completion\/\">project<\/a> had <em>\u201ccontinued to progress\u201d<\/em> despite regional conflict in the Middle East.
