PENN has now replaced that model with a larger land based entertainment venue built around gaming, hotel stays, dining, sports betting and events.<\/p>\n<p>The company opened the property to the public after a ribbon cutting ceremony with Illinois Gaming Board officials, state and local leaders, and employees.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are proud to officially welcome guests and players to the exciting, all-new Hollywood Casino and Hotel Aurora,\u201d<\/em> said Jay Snowden, CEO and President of PENN Entertainment. <em>\u201cTogether with our landside move in Joliet last summer, we have reinvested over $500 million in the Chicagoland market over the last three years, resulting in more jobs, meaningful state and local tax revenue, and further enhancing the region as a must-visit destination.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOur roots in Aurora run deep, and we are committed to extending our 33-year legacy as a leader in world-class dining, hospitality, entertainment, gaming, and guest experience for years to come,\u201d<\/em> added Snowden.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Casino Resort Adds Sportsbook Hotel And Dining<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The casino floor features more than 1,000 slot machines and over 50 table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette and baccarat. The retail sportsbook adds wagering kiosks and one of the largest video displays in the Chicagoland area for live sports.<\/p>\n<p>Rafael Verde, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations, said the project required coordination with regulators, city officials and construction teams.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are grateful for these partnerships and are eager to showcase the collaborative effort to transition from riverboat gaming to an entertainment destination,\u201d<\/em> he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Hollywood Casino and Hotel Aurora employs about 700 workers and supported about 700 construction jobs during development.<\/p>\n<p>Food and entertainment play a major role in the new site. Sorella by Giada brings an Italian steakhouse from chef Giada De Laurentiis, while Boulevard Food and Drink Hall features Chicago area concepts curated by James Beard Award winning chef Shawn McClain.<\/p>\n<p>The wider resort also includes a sportsbook restaurant, Red Lotus Asian Kitchen, and &#038;Vine, a live entertainment lounge and bar with rotating performances.
