The 31-year-old Spanish pro defeated Bryn Kenney heads-up to win his sixth bracelet and move to $69,619,178 in live tournament earnings.

The result also put Mateos fifth on poker all-time money list. Only a small group of players have ever reached six WSOP bracelets, and Mateos reached that number before turning 32.

“When I come to this tournament, it’s my favorite of the series because it’s super expensive and also because the structure is better than the others. It’s three days, we play deeper, and I just love it,” Mateos told PokerNews live reporters after closing out the win. “I was super excited to come today and compete. Everything went my way, and I was able to win the race.”

The $250,000 Super High Roller drew a stacked field and built a $13,720,000 prize pool. The top nine players cashed, with Nick Petrangelo bubbling late on day 2 after David Einhorn made a set of tens.

“I love the rankings,” said Mateos. “I love poker, and I would like to move up the list. It’s something that motivates me, and I will keep working and playing to get as high as possible. Bryn is number one right now, and he’s an amazing player. It will be tough to catch him, but I will try.”

Elite Final Table Ends With Mateos Over Kenney

The final table included Phil Ivey, Jason Koon, Sean Winter, David Einhorn, Brandon Wilson, Samuel Mullur, Michael Moncek and Bryn Kenney. Before play resumed, those nine players had more than $379 million in combined live tournament cashes.

Moncek exited after Koon made Broadway against pocket eights, while Ivey lost with jacks against Kenney queens. Wilson survived one strange multi-way hand after a Koon bluff pushed Kenney off the winner, but he still fell next to Koon. Mateos then sent Mullur out with a rivered nut flush, beat Koon with pocket tens against ace-king, and picked off Winter when aces held against ace-nine. Kenney knocked out Einhorn in third after flopping a straight, setting up the final duel.

Heads-up started with Kenney ahead, but Mateos took control after calling a large river bet with a seven-high straight against Kenney pocket eights. The final hand came when both players hit top pair, but Mateos also had bottom pair. Kenney pushed with ten-nine on a ten-four-two flop, and Mateos called with ten-two. The turn and river missed Kenney, giving Mateos the bracelet.

Kenney earned $2,776,634 for second place and moved to $88.9 million in career earnings. Einhorn took third for $1,862,941, while Winter also crossed seven figures with $1,312,037 for fourth.

Mateos now has six WSOP bracelets, all in no-limit hold’em. His first came in the 2013 WSOP Europe main event when he was 19. He later won a $1,500 event in Las Vegas, the $10,000 heads-up championship, the 2021 $250,000 Super High Roller and a hybrid online-live $3,200 event.

Final Table Results

Place

Player

Payout

1

Adrian Mateos

$4,334,411

2

Bryn Kenney

$2,776,634

3

David Einhorn

$1,862,941

4

Sean Winter

$1,312,037

5

Jason Koon

$972,375

6

Samuel Mullur

$760,417

7

Brandon Wilson

$629,397

8

Phil Ivey

$533,270

9

Michael Moncek

$518,518

The post Adrian Mateos Wins WSOP $250K Super High Roller For Sixth Bracelet appeared first on iGaming.org.

Adrian Mateos won one of the biggest titles of the 2026 World Series of Poker, taking down Event #41, the $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold’em, for $4,334,411.
