Commercial gaming operators sent $17.86 billion to state and local governments, up 12.3%, while the AGA estimated total U.S. gaming revenue could reach $125 billion once tribal gaming numbers arrive.<\/p>\n<p>Bill Miller, president and CEO of the AGA, said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThese results are especially meaningful given the economic uncertainty that characterized much of 2025. Commercial sportsbooks earned $16.89 billion, with every one of the 35 reporting sports betting states showing profit growth. Missouri added a small piece after <a href=\"https:\/\/igaming.org\/sports-news\/missouri-sportsbooks-open-for-action\/\">launching in December<\/a>. Florida did not count in the AGA total because sports betting runs through the Seminole Tribe.<\/p>\n<p>New York led sports betting with $2.5 billion, equal to 14.8% of national revenue. Illinois, New Jersey, and Ohio also passed $1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Online casino stayed concentrated. Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey produced 90% of U.S. iGaming revenue. Pennsylvania ranked first with $3.46 billion, up 28%, while Delaware, Rhode Island, and West Virginia had the highest growth rates.<\/p>\n<p>Land based casinos still brought in the most money, though growth was slower. The 493 commercial casinos generated $51.06 billion, up 2.3%. Queens and Yonkers ranked fifth, but New York casino revenue could change once Resorts World NYC adds more live dealer activity and Bally Bronx plus Hard Rock Metropolitan Park open in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Across all legal gaming jurisdictions, 37 of 38 grew year over year. Mississippi was the only one down, and only by a tiny margin. Nebraska recorded the highest rate of consumer spending growth.<\/p>\n<p>The AGA also tied 2025 to a tougher policy environment. Prediction market sites offered sports event contracts nationwide, while sweepstakes casinos kept competing with licensed online casino brands. Several states acted against sweepstakes operators, and the AGA kept backing gaming under state licensing, regulation, and tax rules.<\/p>\n<p>Miller said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLooking ahead to the remainder of 2026, the AGA will continue to champion state and tribal authority over gaming regulation and fight to ensure a favorable policy environment so that legal gaming can continue to innovate and invest in the communities we serve.
