Mayor Keven LeBlanc said many residents argued that a casino would not fit the character of Herndon.<\/p>\n<p>Comstock had been tied to the proposed development on valuable downtown land. Comstock still holds the deed, but town officials argue they may have a right to reclaim the property if the development no longer matches the community plan for the area. That disagreement could end up in court.<\/p>\n<p>LeBlanc told Patch that Herndon began looking at code changes in January to protect the long-term development plan around the Metro station.
